Oops! She did it again.

While visiting The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Thursday, Drew Barrymore recreated the infamous 1995 dance she performed atop David Letterman‘s desk more than 30 years later in front of one thoroughly embarrassed Stephen Colbert. The impromptu dance session arose after Barrymore revealed that Letterman would be a guest on the upcoming sixth season of her eponymous Daytime Emmy-winning talk show, The Drew Barrymore Show.

“I mean, I’ve spent some times here with David Letterman in this room,” Barrymore said as she gazed wistfully around the Ed Sullivan Theater, to which Colbert replied, “You have. I’m only mildly insulted that you’ve never gotten on the desk.”

Colbert, of course, was referencing Barrymore visit to The Late Show on April 12, 1995, in which she spontaneously jumped on then-host Letterman’s desk during their interview, swayed her hips, flashed him, and gave him a kiss on the cheek in honor of his birthday.

Not surprisingly, Barrymore accepted Colbert’s challenge.

“You want me to do a little dance for you?” Barrymore teased, prompting a surprised Colbert to respond, “I promise you, I don’t. It was just a joke.”

Despite the host’s repeated pleas and attempts to stop her, Barrymore stood up and proceeded to take off her blazer to reveal the back of her white button-down had been bedazzled with the phrase “I [heart] Stephen.”

After sliding off her shoes, she climbed aboard Colbert’s desk and began swaying her hips to the music played by the Late Show Band.

Fully committing to the bit, Barrymore proceeded to slowly crawl across the desk as a red-faced Colbert quietly picked up his mug so that she didn’t knock it over during her playful romp.

“It’s different now!” she enthusiastically remarked.

Barrymore completed her routine by laying out triumphantly across the desk and giving the camera a big grin as a flustered Colbert sat behind her.

“Well, Drew, I’m afraid that’s all we have time for everybody,” the host declared as Barrymore laughed.

Then, pretending to be a doctor, Colbert put a hand to her forehead and added, “And tell me where the pain is, Drew.”

Colbert helped her up before pulling her into a hug.

“You’re the best,” he said.

Barrymore’s visit to The Late Show may be one of the last times she’ll ever get to dance atop its desk, given that the longtime franchise is officially coming to a close at the end of its current season next May.

While speaking with Entertainment Weekly last year, Barrymore explained that Letterman showed her how to be a good host and foster a “safe” and “playful” environment for guests through the way he handled her dance break.

“David Letterman taught me really, really well, which is, if somebody does something spontaneous, you have a real choice to make it uncomfortable or like a joyful celebration,” Barrymore explained at the time. “Because what he did for me that day — when I went on his desk and really hadn’t planned anything I was doing, and was just kind of going with this wild freedom — he made it okay for everybody in that moment. Certainly me.”
