ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – According to the City of Rockford, the federal government will install a temporary security fence around the federal courthouse in Rockford.
A city spokesperson says it’s looking for more information and as this could create uncertainty in the community.
The social media post came days after the city issued a statement that Rockford Police Department follows the Illinois Trust Act and immigration enforcement is at the federal level.
In June, leaders from Rockford confirmed the U.S. Department of Homeland Security was in the city, conducting an operation on the city’s southwest side.
