One question for every Illini player entering 2025-26 season

CHAMPAIGN — Basketball season may still seem pretty far in the distance, but Illinois will soon enter an important part of the calendar.

Now under two months out from the Illini’s regular season opener against Jackson State on Nov. 3, Illinois is diving headfirst into fall practices and, before long, will begin ramping up into season mode. Much of the time in the preseason will be spent trying to fit all of the pieces of the roster puzzle together while getting a clearer idea of what Brad Underwood‘s rotation will look like.

That process leaves questions for every player. For the Illini’s top dogs, those questions are more about how they can reach the next level of their game, rather than whether or not they will play a significant role. But for many, some questions will determine the extent of their impact and just how big a slice of the minutes pie they’ll ultimately receive.
