Kalamazoo, Michigan — This Sunday afternoon, a little after 2 p.m., the Harvest Moon officially becomes the Full Harvest Moon.
It’s the perfect time to play Harvest Moon by Neil Young and watch the moon at the same time.
It will be gliding from west to east across your local sky, not setting until a touch after 8 p.m. Sunday evening.
Last month’s full moon is generally known as the Full Sturgeon Moon, but this month identifies with the hard work farmers are putting in to harvest their crops. Thus, the full Harvest Moon.
The following are moonset times for next week, and the viewing should be outstanding:
Monday, Sept. 8 at 8:30 p.m.Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 8:53 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 9:19 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11 at 9:50 p.m.
All of these moonsets will be in your eastern sky.
