The gates are finally open wide — and a soap legend is about to walk through them.
The historic new daytime drama Beyond the Gates has officially set its second crossover with one of its CBS sister series, and its first from The Bold and the Beautiful. Following Bryton James bringing some of The Young and the Restless‘ Genoa City flavor over to BTG’s fictional Maryland suburb setting of Fairmont in August, CBS announced on Monday that longtime B&B star Thorsten Kaye is now planning his own visit.
As part of a broader release detailing the the network’s fall daytime offerings and their respective premiere dates, CBS noted the ongoing drama encroaching upon BTG’s best and brightest, like EGOT-winning matriarch Anita Dupree (Tamara Tunie), the recently abducted fashion designer Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla), and her terrified, firecracker mom, Dani (Karla Mosley).
“Dani and Andre’s (Sean Freeman) impromptu trip together leads to shocking revelations,” the announcement read, “and directs Dani toward a promising connection with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) in a crossover with The Bold and the Beautiful.”

James’ Y&R crossover last month as music executive Devon Winters came amid Anita reuniting with the girl group that launched her career — the Articulettes. He offered the songstress a lucrative record deal, but ever the Dupree loyalist, she turned him down to focus on the family.
Y&R and BTG fans were able to deduce the nature of Devon’s visit well before he ever graced the halls of Fairmont Crest, the gated community that gives the fledgling soap its name — Anita’s a famed musician and Devon’s a noted producer. But what might motivate the impending path-crossing between Dani and Ridge is less clear, especially in light of Dani and Devon having their own flirty run-in at the tail end of James’ time on Beyond the Gates.
Dani’s on-again, off-again relationship with playboy photographer Andre — who’s also her sister’s ex’s nephew — has become more ambiguous than ever in recent weeks. Though Andre officially ended things with his other flame, Ashley (Jen Jacob), Dani’s daughter’s abduction has forced her to spend some questionable quality time with her ex-husband Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), who, it should be noted, shares a last name with Devon Winters’ birth mother Yolanda.
Meanwhile, on The Bold and the Beautiful, Ridge has had his own will-they-won’t-they situation going with Rebecca Budig‘s Taylor Hayes. Last week, however, he finally delivered the news Taylor dreaded most: No, he can’t bring himself to pick a wedding date and can’t even commit to marrying her. (Though it should be noted Ridge and Taylor have been married twice before — when the characters were played by Ronn Moss and Hunter Tylo.) So if romance is on the table, at least Ridge is available for a potential meet-cute with Dani.

Monday’s announcement also revealed another newcomer headed toward Fairmont.
David Lami Friebe (Sistas) has been cast as Izaiah Hawthorne, the brother of good-guy cop Jacob (Jibre Hordges). Jacob has been at the center of some of the series’ most conflicted storylines — Dani’s controversial arrest after she fired a gold-plated gun at Bill’s wedding, Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) blackmailing by a mysterious waiter who underwent facial reconstruction surgery, and now Chelsea’s kidnapping.
Izaiah is likely to find himself in the middle of Jacob and his wife Naomi’s (Arielle Prepetit) “major marital dilemma” as he “hits town and immediately establishes two complicated relationships amidst his own family drama.”
Beyond the Gates airs weekdays on CBS at 2 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT, and is also available to stream on Paramount+.
