According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a driver in a sedan was unable to stop for slowing traffic and rear-ended another vehicle, then veered into another lane. The bus then collided with the sedan and both vehicles went into the median.
There were no injuries reported among the 27 students on the bus, the patrol said. The drivers of the sedan and bus were both hospitalized with injuries, but are expected to be OK.
The students were from St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in New Brighton. Video showed them standing on the side of the highway after exiting the bus.
The state patrol is investigating.
