MONMOUTH COUNTY, N.J. (WPVI) — An uncommon visitor has been seen at the Jersey Shore.

It was spotted near the Shark River Inlet in Monmouth County this past weekend.

The gentle giants sometimes follow warm water currents north during the summer months and make their way back down south as temperatures drop in the fall.
If you spot the manatee, you should report it.
Manatees are at risk when they swim in waters below 68 degrees.
