Ryan Reynolds is bringing his John Candy documentary tour to the Garden State.
The evening will feature a screening of the documentary, which celebrates the life and legacy of the beloved comedian, “including Candy’s friends and family,” organizers say. The conversation will focus on Candy’s artistry, generosity and lasting influence.
“As some of you know, I’ve included John Candy easter eggs in a lot of my films. Because his films and his life mean so much to me,” Reynolds has written on social media.
The documentary is directed by Colin Hanks and “features never-before-seen archival footage, personal stories, and interviews that highlight Candy’s extraordinary career and enduring cultural impact.”
The tour is co-produced by Mills Entertainment and Maximum Effort, in association with Amazon MGM Studios and presented by Clearly Canadian.
Net proceeds from the tour will benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, continuing Candy’s giving spirit.
Tickets start at $59 (plus applicable service fees) and are on sale now. For tickets and more information, call State Theatre Guest Services at 732-246-7469 or visit STNJ.org.
