James McFadden says Celtic’s decision to let Greg Taylor leave in the summer was a poor call.
At the moment, Celtic have fan favourite Kieran Tierney and Boca Juniors loanee Marcelo Saracchi as their left-back options.
But Tierney hasn’t reached top form yet, while we are yet to see what Uruguayan international Saracchi can bring to the team.
Tierney’s fitness has been questioned at the beginning of this season, and McFadden thinks Celtic are really missing Taylor.

Taylor decided to leave Celtic for Greek side PAOK at the end of his contract, even though Brendan Rodgers was very keen on keeping him.
Celtic offered Taylor new terms, but the former Kilmarnock man decided not to put pen to paper and moved on for a new challenge.
But McFadden, speaking on Open Goal, has suggested that Celtic should have done more to keep him.
McFadden: “There’s another one we’ve not really spoke about, Greg Taylor. Letting Greg Taylor leave was a terrible decision.
Derek Ferguson: “Why did they not just give him the money? Wee Scottish guy, look what he’s done. He’s a 7/10 every week, isn’t he? You trust him. Why not just give him the money?
Si Ferry: “But maybe it was more the fact that he didn’t want to stay because he was going to be second choice. What can you then do?
McFadden: “I don’t think he was looking for a fortune, and I don’t think he was offered anything close to what he was wanting – I don’t know.”
Taylor says PAOK stint ‘enjoyable’ so far
Taylor appeared via video link on the BBC’s post-match coverage of Scotland’s 2-0 win over Belarus, as he gave an insight into what Scotland can expect from Greece next month.
He also explained what is different about playing in Greece compared to Scotland, and what the standards are like.
Taylor said: “The kick-offs are quite a bit later here, because of the temperature, so it’s getting a bit used to with that.
“The standard has actually been good. We’ve got a lot of good players, international players, and it’s been enjoyable.
“I think it’s important to get playing regularly out here, and hopefully if my form is good enough and I’m playing as regularly as I’d like, the national team stuff will take care of itself.”
