After sweeping the Golden State Rookie Face-Off, San Jose Sharks forward Collin Graf couldn’t hold back his excitement for the future of his team.

Graf was a leader for the Sharks prospect squad, sporting an ‘A’ on his jersey, and the coaching staff told reporters he was there for leadership. The Sharks forward played 33 games in the NHL last season, giving him a massive advantage over every player across the tournament.

Graf sparked the Sharks’ comeback win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday with points on three straight goals. He scored the game-tying and go-ahead goals at the time.

While Graf was happy with his performance, the winger could only speak about his team and what the future is looking like.

“It’s exciting. I think there are a lot of good players on this team,” Graf said. “It’s fun to watch. It’s fun to play with these guys, and it’s exciting for the future.”

Graf raving about Michael Misa’s talent

Michael Misa and Sam Dickinson each had a goal and three assists last night. Graf has been skating with Misa, the second pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, and is raving about his talent.

“Super good player. Super-skilled player,” Graf said about Misa. “I think he sees the ice really well. When you’re playing with him, you just want to get to open spaces and be ready to shoot.”

Misa showcased his passing skills against the Kings all night long. He helped get the San Jose Sharks on the board with a tremendous pass to Kasper Halttunen on the power play.

After playing two games with Misa, Graf explained that the centerman has everything the Sharks are looking for in a young star.

“Anyone we think of as a really good player with the puck, [they] don’t rush themselves. They’re very patient,” Graf explained. “They don’t get rushed by the defense. They’re in control of the game at their own pace. He has that for sure.”

Training camp begins within a week for the Sharks, where Misa will be fighting for an NHL spot alongside Graf.
