WNBA rookie guard Sonia Citron’s romantic relationship with a Dallas Cowboys player came to light ahead of the team’s win over the New York Giants on Sunday.
The Cowboys defeated their NFC East rivals in a memorable showdown that went to overtime, after which owner Jerry Jones revealed that the team was signing three-time Pro Bowler Jadeveon Clowney.
Citron, drafted by the Washington Mystics as the third-overall pick this year, had little difficulty proving her worth in the pros, averaging 14.9 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists in her debut campaign.
Sadly, the Mystics did not make the playoffs, which tipped off this weekend. However, this meant the New York native had some free time and was able to attend Sunday’s game to see her boyfriend.

Citron, 21, is dating Cowboys linebacker Marist Liufau. They met while they were at Notre Dame, with Liafau a third-round pick in 2024.
The couple shared a moment before the game, which you can see in the Instagram clip below:
The linebacker posted a tribute to his partner earlier this season, celebrating her after she was named an All-Star.
The Cowboys beat the Giants 40-37 after sending the game into overtime off a 64-yard field goal from kicker Brandon Aubrey in the dying moments after Russell Wilson and Malik Nabers connected on what appeared to be the winning touchdown.
Aubrey won the game from 40 yards out in OT.
