TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) – A bear sighting over the weekend surprised residents of the Dorado Country Club neighborhood. The bear, a cub, was spotted roaming on the golf course near Speedway and Wilmot on Saturday.

Footage from a resident’s Ring camera captured the bear wandering the neighborhood. Although one neighbor did not witness the bear firsthand, the incident quickly became the talk of the community.

The sighting of the cub on the golf course sparked concerns among neighbors. The primary worry was whether the cub would reconnect with its mother.

Bear sightings in residential areas are not uncommon this time of year as they search for food and water. However, residents here have not encountered one before and are anxious about the possibility of the cub’s mother being nearby.

The Tucson Police Department confirmed the cub was located and safely captured near St. Joseph’s Hospital. It was left in the custody of the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

News 4 Tucson has reached out to Game and Fish to inquire about the bear’s relocation status but has not yet received a response.
