Alexander Isak was one of 21 outfield players in training on Tuesday as Liverpool trained ahead of Atletico Madrid’s visit in the Champions League.
Arne Slot‘s men trained at the AXA on the eve of their first European game of the season, which could herald the debut of Liverpool’s new No. 9.
Isak missed out on the squad that faced Burnley in favour of the striker concentrating on training, with Slot later saying “he will be able to play 45 on Wednesday as a minimum or a little bit more.”
A debut is, therefore, on the cards despite his limited training with the team since his deadline day move, and he was in good spirits in front of the cameras.

Isak was one of seven forwards taking part in the session, and although Federico Chiesa was present, he is unable to feature after being omitted from the Champions League squad.
Jayden Danns was present and could be in contention for a place on the bench at Anfield instead of taking part in the UEFA Youth League match earlier on Tuesday.

Curtis Jones remains absent with an injury, as does Stefan Bajcetic as he continues to work his way back to full fitness, but Alexis Mac Allister is fit after a nasty knock to his ankle.
It leaves Slot still with plenty of strong options, whether he seeks to rotate or not.

Can we just say, this looks like a seriously good back readjustment from Ibou on Ryan Gravenberch!

There were plenty of smiles on the training pitch, including from Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson, the latter of whom will be hoping for his first start of the season against the team he was linked with over the summer.
The vice-captain has come off the bench in two of the four games so far, though did replace Milos Kerkez after just 38 minutes at Burnley.

Slot will offer a fresh update on his squad and his plans for selection when he speaks to the media on Tuesday at 3.30pm, which you can watch live here.
