In a reply to an Instagram comment that appears to have since been deleted, Sevigny says she regrets the “lapse of judgment”

Chloë Sevigny is addressing pictures she recently took with rocker Marilyn Manson.
After posting a photo of herself and the controversial musician on her Instagram Stories and receiving backlash from fans, the Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story star apologized .
The pictures that were posted and then deleted, per The Daily Beast, depicted Sevigny, 50, and her husband art gallery director Siniša Mačković, posing with Manson, 56, and director Jonas Åkerlund.
Another featured Sevigny appearing to lick Manson’s face.

Fans began commenting on recent Instagram posts of Sevigny’s, expressing their apparent disappointment. “Pics with Marilyn Manson that’s gross?” one person said.
“The Marilyn Manson post is a disappointment sis. UNFOLLOWED,” another wrote. “I really admire you but I’m so disappointed that you have spent time with Marilyn Manson,” a third commented.
“Why? Just why? You don’t need Manson by your side that’s gross,” someone else wrote. “I’m truly sorry — you’re absolutely right. We unexpectedly ran into MM and Jonas in the lobby of a hotel,” Sevigny wrote in a reply to an Instagram comment that since appears to have been deleted.
“We’re both fans of Jonas as both a musician and a filmmaker, and in the moment, I wasn’t thinking clearly. I’d had too much to drink and didn’t consider how inappropriate or hurtful it might be to be photographed with MM.”
“I deeply regret the lapse in judgment,” concluded the actress.
Manson, whose real name is Brian Hugh Warner, has been accused of sexual abuse. The musician had several lawsuits brought against him for the allegations but has yet to be brought to court.
Model Ashley Smithline, actress Evan Rachel Wood and Game of Thrones actress Esmé Bianco have alleged that Manson had sexually assaulted them. Manson has denied the allegations.
Manson also allegedly blew his nose on a camerawoman at a concert in New Hampshire in 2019, which resulted in a fine and a sentence of 20 hours of community service, which he completed in February 2024.

Most recently, in January 2025, Manson dropped his 2022 defamation lawsuit amid sexual abuse allegations against Wood, 38, and paid over $300,000 for her legal fees.
