The Guardians won their eighth straight game 6-2 behind yet another great start, this time from Parker Messick.

Nick has your recap here. I don’t know where this journey ends but it is truly so fun to see them gelling and going after teams night-in and night-out. As TJ Zuppe and Zack Meisel said on their patreon episode yesterday, the players, coaches and fans really deserve this special run after such a difficult season.
The Guardians are now going to try to take a double-header from the Twins today. One piece of good news is that they pretty much exhausted the Twins’ bullpen yesterday, so, hopefully, they can get Joe Ryan and Bailey Ober out of the games early today and take advantage.
AROUND MLB:
The Red Sox won, and the Mariners beat Houston. We are hoping for a Seattle sweep of the Astros right now. The Tigers lost to Atlanta (go, Braves!) and the Rangers lost to the Marlins. The Guardians are 1.5 back of the Astros for the third wildcard spot (with the tiebreaker) and 2.5 back of Detroit (one more win against the Tigers would give Cleveland the tiebreaker there). Hopefully, we have some exciting scoreboard watching ahead of us!
