TAMPA, Fla. (KLTV) – Former Hallsville Bobcat Justin Slaten tossed a scoreless inning of relief in Boston’s 11-7 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday.
The right-hander entered the game in the seventh inning.
Slaten forced Carson Williams to ground out to third base to begin the inning. He then got Bob Seymour and Everson Pereira to strike out swinging to complete the 1-2-3 frame.
Slaten threw 12 pitches, with seven of them being strikes.
The Red Sox (84-70) remained tied for the second Wild Card spot in the American League, 1 1/2 games up on the Cleveland Guardians.
