Beaver Stadium will be a sea of white come Saturday when Oregon comes to State College for the infamous White Out with ESPN’s College GameDay in town.

It’ll be the 18th full-stadium White Out and second between two top-10 teams in the AP Poll, as Penn State boasts a No. 3 ranking while the Ducks are No. 6.

The two squads have limited history against each other, but the Nittany Lions are on a revenge tour after losing to Oregon in the Big Ten championship last year.

Here’s a look back at the five meetings between Penn State and Oregon.

2024

The Ducks cruised to the Big Ten championship last year, finishing its debut season in the conference with a perfect 12-0 record.

As far as the path for the Nittany Lions to get to the conference title game, it was different sledding for Penn State. It appeared Penn State wasn’t going to make the contest, but Ohio State dropped its regular season finale to Michigan and the Nittany Lions escaped a pre-mature scare against Maryland.

In turn it was Penn State against Oregon at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the first time the programs matched up since the Ducks departed from the Pac-12.

The high-scoring affair resulted in Oregon taking a 42-35 win. Tez Johnson led the way for the Ducks, as the wide receiver brought home the game MVP after tallying 11 receptions for 181 yards and a touchdown.

1995

The second most recent matchup had Penn State making the trek to Oregon’s side of the country, flying to Pasadena, California for the Rose Bowl.

In this matchup, the Nittany Lions came out on top 38-20, giving the program its first ever Rose Bowl win before notching its other win in 2022 against Utah.

The game capped off a historical season for the team, as it finished the campaign with a 12-0 record.

Running back Ki-Jana Carter scored an 83-yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage, and he totaled 156 rushing yards on the day. He left the game with co-MVP honors alongside fellow tailback D.J. Dozier.

The rest

Of the remaining three matchups in the all-time series, Penn State holds the 2-1 advantage, making it a 3-2 record when including the aforementioned two games.

The wins for the Nittany Lions came in 1963 and 1960, with one victory being in the regular season while the other was in the postseason.
