We’re nearly one week out from Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, and the Showgirl herself has shared another glimpse at the world we can expect. On her Instagram, the artist unveiled another vinyl cover variant, titled “The Crowd is Your King,” with an image of her standing against a gallery wall of The Life of a Showgirl album art.

Styled by Joseph Cassell and photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, Swift’s imagery for her forthcoming project has been full of Vegas references, Bob Mackie archives, and glittery looks galore. In the latest, the team pulled an ensemble from The Blonds’ Fall/Winter 2023 runway, Valley of The Blonds.

The collection, which borrowed its name from Jacqueline Susann’s 1996 novel (and subsequent film) Valley of the Dolls, featured blown up gemstones, massive hairdos, and dramatic silhouettes for an expressive, camp-take on old Hollywood glamour. Pulling references from its namesake, it explored the highs and lows of stardom—a theme familiar to Swift and particularly pertinent on The Life of a Showgirl.

The look that Swift reimagined for her album featured a peplum corset top in rose gold with a strapless neckline and tons of shimmering details. Crafted with intricate boning, the piece was adorned with oversized strands of diamonds contouring the hips and framing the top. At its upper center, a massive pear cut gem took center stage, arranged upside down to mirror the shape of the corset’s torso. Swift opted for fishnets and little black shorts instead of the matching sequined tights worn on the runway, and paired the look with a Bob Mackie headdress from the iconic designer’s Jubilee! costuming and glittery Louboutin heels.

Swift previously wore The Blonds in another album variant, a fiery sequined top with matching gloves designed to mimic flames.
