The practice facility is expected to be completed before the start of the 2026 WNBA season.

DALLAS, Texas — The Dallas Wings are one step closer to having a home of their own.

On Friday, team leaders and city officials gathered at Joey Georgusis Park in West Oak Cliff to break ground on the Wings’ long-awaited practice facility, a project years in the making. Dallas Wings President and CEO Greg Bibb said this is the vision the organization has been working toward.

“We’ve been working on this project for three years,” Bibb said.

The 70,000-square-foot facility will feature multiple practice courts, a world-class training center, and player wellness and recovery spaces.

But leaders emphasized the project isn’t just for the team.

Dallas City Council Member Maxie Johnson said it will serve the surrounding community with basketball camps, clinics, and outreach programs aimed at giving kids more opportunities.

“This is going to be a resource for our kids in our community,” Johnson said.

Wings officials and community leaders say this is more than a milestone; it’s a movement for equity in sports.

“This is not a moment, this is a movement, and the movement shows that girls deserve the same opportunity as boys,” one speaker said.

In addition to the new Wings facility, the complex will also include soccer fields for use by both the public and Trinity FC, Dallas’ professional women’s soccer team, city leaders said.

The practice facility is expected to be completed before the start of the 2026 WNBA season. Bibb said the project represents not only growth for the Wings, but also an investment in Dallas youth.

“We’re proud to be a part of that and a beacon toward it,” he said.
