Maumelle, Ark. (KATV) — A water main break at Murphy Drive and Olympia Drive in Maumelle has led to a precautionary boil water notice for about 200 customers.

The break, which occurred around 10:15 a.m., on September 26, caused an interruption in water service.

Central Arkansas Water (CAW) expects to restore service by 11 p.m. tonight.

According to CAW, areas that were impacted include:

Rolling Oaks Dr. (Maumelle Blvd. to Oakridge Dr.)Garden Oaks Dr., Ln., Cv.Murphy Dr. (Maumelle Blvd. to Bringler Dr.)Burkhalter Commercial Dr.

The Arkansas Health Department. requires a boil notice when there’s a loss of pressure affecting a large area.

Affected residents should boil tap water for at least one minute before using it for drinking, cooking, or dishwashing.

CAW is informing residents through street signs, social media, and door hangers.

The notice will be lifted once water quality samples confirm safety.
