WINSTON-SALEM, NORTH CAROLINA – SEPTEMBER 27: Malachi Hosley #0 of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets signals for a first down during the first half of a football game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Allegacy Federal Credit Union Stadium on September 27, 2025 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I was not expecting Wake Forest to be such a difficult opponent. We still won the game but that was a heck of an ugly win. Georgia Tech survives to be ranked going into the Bye Week and we have our first 5-0 season since 2014. Things are looking good for the Jackets right now even if it doesn’t feel that way.

I know we weren’t the ones who beat them, but it always feels good to see uga lose. Lots of changes in the AP poll this week now that Penn State, LSU, uga, and FSU have lost their first games. It seems like we are getting a better picture of where teams stand now that we are nearly halfway through the season. I’m looking forward to seeing more chaos as the season goes on.
This week GT has a Bye Week so we will have a gimmie pick and then focus on the rest of the teams in the NCAA.
Bye Week @ #17 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets
Logan: This is a gimmie pick. If you want a free point pick the Yellow Jackets. If you don’t want a free point pick Bye Week, I’m not sure why you would want to miss a free point though.
Logan’s pick: Georgia Tech
#9 Texas Longhorns (-6.5) @ Florida Gators
Logan: People have been downplaying Arch Manning, which is fair he hasn’t lived up to the preseason hype, but Florida is on a whole other level of struggling right now. I don’t think I’ll pick Florida the rest of the season regardless of the spread. This might be the game that finally ends the Billy Napier’s tenure at Florida.
Duke Blue Devils (-3.5) @ Cal Bears
Logan: I’m pretty sure picking Duke games has gone sideways for me every time this season. I think Cal is the talented team on the upswing and that they should cover at home… but my past record inclines me to pick the opposite of who I think will win. I guess I’ll take Duke.
#14 Iowa State Cyclones @ Cincinnati Bearcats (-1.5)
Logan: It seems weird to me that Cincy is favored in this matchup. The Bearcats had a big win last weekend against Kansas but Iowa State has yet to give us a reason to doubt Rocco Becht or the rest of the team. I’m sure there is something I’m missing with this betting line but I will take Iowa State to win this one.
Logan’s pick: Iowa State
Air Force Falcons @ Navy Midshipmen (-11.5)
Logan: First leg of the Commander and Chief Trophy. Air Force has lost all of their FBS matchups this year, but they have been close losses. Air Force has a talented QB/WR combo in Liam Szarka and Cade Harris who almost all their offense seems to run through, but their defense has been struggling. Navy has played less talented opponents overall. I’m not convinced Air Force can win on the road but I think they can cover in this rivalry game.
Logan’s pick: Air Force
Wake Forest Demon Deacons @ Virginia Tech Hokies (-6.5)
Logan: Georgia Tech’s last opponent facing off against their next opponent. I’m still not sold on Virginia Tech after beating NC State. NC State has show no defensive ability all season, VT only put up 23 points on the Wolfpack which was enough to win but not super impressive. This will be a battle of defenses and whether VT can contain the Wake QB Robby Ashford. I think Wake will cover in this game, 6.5 seems like a big point spread for VT, but I do think VT should win this game at home.
Logan’s pick: Wake Forest
Mississippi State Bulldogs @ #6 Texas A&M Aggies (-14.5)
Logan: Mississippi State is off to a hot start this season. The bulldogs have done a total 180 from last year and are now 4-1 with their only loss being in overtime to Tennessee last week. This game is on the road and will be more of a challenge for the Bulldogs. Texas A&M is also off to a hot start, but other than winning a close game on the road against Notre Dame the Aggies haven’t had a win against a decent team. This is another game where the spread just seems too big. I think Mississippi State should cover in this matchup.
Logan’s pick: Mississippi State
Washington Huskies (-6.5) @ Maryland Terrapins
Logan: Washington did better than I expected against Ohio State last week, but not by much. Still Washington looked good in their one challenge while Maryland hasn’t really faced anyone of note (unless you count Wisconsin). Maryland could definitely win this matchup at home, but I don’t see it right now. I’ll take Washington.
Logan’s pick: Washington
#24 Virginia Cavaliers @ Louisville Cardinals (-7.5)
Logan: How is Louisville not ranked by now? I think this will be a tough game for Virginia coming off the big win and going on the road to face a Louisville team that had to overcome adversity to win against Pitt last week. I think Louisville should be in a good headspace to win this game big.
Logan’s pick: Louisville
#16 Vanderbilt Commodores @ #10 Alabama Crimson Tide (-10.5)
Logan: No better time for a trap game than right after winning a big game on the road. Vandy is on a mission this year to prove themselves. The Tide will be looking for vengeance after last year’s loss, but I think the game may still mean more to Vandy in a weird way. I’m not convinced Vandy will win, but they can cover against this more offensive oriented Alabama team.
#3 Miami Hurricanes (-4.5) @ #18 FSU Seminoles
Logan: FSU kind of killed the vibe of this matchup by losing to Virginia last week. I was going to pick Miami anyway given how hot the Hurricanes have looked to start this season, but the FSU defensive performance last week kind of sealed my opinion.
