CONCORD, N.C. — The Erik Jones Foundation unveiled a new fundraising avenue on Tuesday, one that it will use to support breast cancer detection and care. Fans can now purchase limited-edition window net pull tabs.

Jones headed to Charlotte Motor Speedway on Tuesday with dozens of breast cancer survivors, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, guest NASCAR drivers, and Speedway Motorsports employees. They took part in the 13th annual Paint Pit Wall Pink event, but they also showed off this new fundraising avenue.

According to Jones’s foundation, fans and supporters can now purchase authentic pull tabs that drivers use to release the window nets in their stock cars. These are special, however, as they are pink, and they feature a ring turning them into keychains. The breast cancer ribbon is embroidered on them.

These pull tabs are available on the Erik Jones Foundation website for $20. They will directly benefit those affected by breast cancer through the Window of Hope program, which Jones took over from Kurt Busch in 2023.

This program features drivers running pink window nets on their race vehicles at the Charlotte Roval. They then autograph and auction those nets off to raise money for breast cancer detection and care.

“This is a big program for us — on our side, probably our biggest over the last couple of years in terms of fundraising,” Jones told FanBuzz while taking a break from painting. “We put a lot of effort in from the foundation side, and it’s just fun to see the turnout.

“The work that Charlotte (Motor Speedway) puts in, the work that NASCAR puts in, Thermal Control Products. There’s a lot of people that it takes to make this go around, but it’s always cool to see, especially when Sunday comes around, all of the pink window nets on the cars. And then just to see the money that we can raise to give back.”

Jones noted during the event that the Window of Hope program raised more than $50,000 last year through the auction. This year, they could surpass this number.

They already have an $11,000 head start after nearly all of the Cup Series teams donated the cost of the nets. Every Cup team will participate in the program once again while more Xfinity and Truck Series teams show support during the pivotal playoff weekend.

With more nets heading to auction and the pull tabs going on sale, the stage is set for a big leap in fundraising. The Erik Jones Foundation currently has the goal of $100,000 this year, which would double the efforts from 2024.

Even if the Erik Jones Foundation falls short of this lofty goal, they will still celebrate the progress made over the years and the expanded opportunities to support those affected by breast cancer.

“How important early detection is and prevention, that’s a huge focus in the foundation for us,” Jones added. “Just promoting that and spreading that word is huge, and if you can help someone out along the way, that could be a life saved down the road.”
