Racing fans and gaming enthusiasts, the countdown is on. NASCAR 25 is just two weeks away. And none other than Dale Earnhardt Jr. is stoking the excitement, sharing his behind-the-scenes contributions while giving the fandom a realistic glimpse of what to expect from the franchise’s latest offering.

What Did Dale Earnhardt Jr. Say About NASCAR 25 As Launch Date Inches Closer?

Ever since iRacing announced that NASCAR 25, the first in its new line of console games, will release on October 14, excitement has been through the roof. And amid all this, Earnhardt Jr. shared his thoughts about the much-anticipated launch.

The latest installment promises a more authentic career mode, starting players in NASCAR’s grassroots ARCA Series before climbing the ranks to the pinnacle, the Cup Series. Speaking about the new installment on his “Dale Jr. Download podcast,” Earnhardt shared how he contributed to the game’s development.

“I’m excited, I can’t wait for people to get it,” the two-time Daytona winner began. “I want to hear what they have to say about the career mode. Me and TJ (Majors) worked really hard for that. We did a lot of filming in here, I think we did 40-50 sort of scenarios, just different things that could happen to you.”

In addition to an expanded driver roster, NASCAR 25 is set to showcase several well-known figures from the racing world. Reporters and personalities like Jeff Gluck of The Athletic, Kelly Crandall, and the ever-popular nascarcasm will be integrated into the game, likely within its career mode. However, they may also appear in season play.

The game also continues the trend of incorporating features familiar to sports gaming fans, such as an in-game social media feed, a staple in past NASCAR titles, and a hallmark of modern sports simulations.

Building on his thoughts, the JR Motorsports owner opened up about his expectations and how he plans to approach the game post-release: “My process is to like, they get the product and then I start writing down everything they wish were different or don’t like, right? It ain’t going to be a home run for everybody, there will be some things that they wish were there, that aren’t there.”

“The idea is that this is a franchise, its going to go year after year after year and so, what are the things that come in the next download, the DLCs,” the veteran continued. “So, I’m looking forward to the release, can’t wait for that.”

Fans can already reserve their copies of NASCAR 25, which is now available for pre-order on Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5 ahead of its October 14 launch. Don’t fret, PC players won’t be left behind, with the Steam release dated for November 11.
