Georgia men’s golf wrapped up its second tournament of the fall season by finishing 15th at the Ben Hogan Collegiate Invitational in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sophomore James Earle was the standout for the Bulldogs, finishing in 13th place for the event at 2-over-par. Earle shot 1-under-par in the second round and even par in the third and final round.

Georgia had two other players finish in the top 50 as junior Grayson Wood finished in 45th place, 9-over-par, and freshman JD Culbreth finished in 48th place, 10-over-par.

In a strong tournament, Georgia struggled to compete with the deep field of national powers. North Carolina, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Texas all tied for first place at 10-over-par. Other perennial powers such as Pepperdine, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Auburn, Texas Tech and Oklahoma rounded out the top 10 finishers.

“I’m proud of the way we showed resilience and played well in the second and third rounds,” said Georgia head coach Chris Haack. “This is a great event that we were happy to be a part of.”

Georgia will look to build on this challenging event as it travels to East Hampton, New York, for the Hamptons Intercollegiate Tournament on Oct. 6-7.
