Despite all the hype surrounding him this season, Bryson DeChambeau started off the 153rd Open Championship with a brutal opening round on Thursday.

DeChambeau, a two-time U.S. Open champion, shot 7-over-par in the opening round at Royal Portrush. It was just the second time in his major championship career that he completed a round of golf without recording a birdie. Overall, he lost more than four strokes to the field with his approach play on Thursday.

Most people assumed DeChambeau would automatically miss the cut with his score in the opening round. However, he minimized the damage this Friday by recording a six-under 65 in the second round.

While DeChambeau was lighting up the golf course this Friday morning, his rumored girlfriend was turning heads on social media.

For the past three years, DeChambeau has been linked to Marian University golfer Lilia Schneider. They were reportedly spotted together at a LIV Golf event in 2024. That’s what really set off the rumors.

Schneider, who has more than 58,000 Instagram followers, hasn’t commented on all the speculation. She just continues to post content for her loyal fans.

Schneider, a two-time NAIA Scholar-Athlete, didn’t compete for Marian this past season due to injury.

During the 2022-23 season, Schneider had a 49th place finish at the Midway Eagle Invitational. She was also tied for 45th at the Music City Invite.

Maybe, just maybe, Schneider will address the rumors during the third round of the Open Championship.

As for DeChambeau, he’ll try his best to climb up the leaderboard and potentially win his third major title.
