World news Live Updates: Deadly Russian drone strikes hit passenger trains in Sumy region

Russian drones struck two passenger trains in northern Ukraine’s Sumy region on Saturday, killing at least one person and injuring dozens more. Rescue crews rushing to aid survivors of the first strike were caught when a second drone hit another train nearby.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack as “terror,” accusing Russia of deliberately targeting civilians.

This incident is part of Russia’s ongoing campaign to attack Ukraine’s vital infrastructure. The strike follows a week of major Russian bombardments, including massive drone and missile assaults on Kyiv, attacks on gas facilities, and a temporary blackout at the power station feeding the Chernobyl plant.
