>> THIS IS THE FIRST-EVER COLOR RUN FUNDRAISING FOR EPILEPSY IN FORT MYERS. >> ALL RIGHT. IT’S TIME TO TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT’S GOING ON IN THE TROPICS OVER THE LAST FEW HOURS, WE HAVE SOME NEW DEVELOPMENTS HERE AS WE NO LONGER EXPECT DEVELOPMENT OF THAT AREA NEAR THE STATE OF FLORIDA. WE’VE BEEN WATCHING THAT YELLOW AREA OF INTEREST NEAR FLORIDA. IT NO LONGER IS EXPECTED TO THAT TO DEVELOP. AND WE ARE EXPECTING THAT UNSTABLE WEATHER TO STILL REMAIN IN PLACE. HOWEVER, IT A LITTLE BIT OF THAT LOWERING PRESSURES IS GOING TO CONTRIBUTE TO KEEPING OUR WEATHER SOMEWHAT UNSTABLE AND UNSETTLED OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. AND CHANCES FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE ATLANTIC IN THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC HAVE BEGAN TO INCREASE AS WE TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT’S GOING ON HERE IS NOTICING HERE THIS YELLOW, ORANGE YELLOW BACK HAD COLOR BEING AREA. THAT’S THE AREA THAT WE’RE NOW MINDING RETURNING IN THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC, GIVEN A 60% CHANCE OF DEVELOPMENT OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. THIS IS GOING TO CONTINUE TO MOVE ACROSS THE ATLANTIC AT WEST-NORTHWEST MOTION. AND IT LOOKS AS THOUGH THAT IF SOME DEVELOPMENT IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE IS GOING TO BE A LITTLE BIT SLOWER IN NATURE. NOW, LET’S TAKE A LOOK AT WHAT’S GOING ON. AS FAR AS THE FUTURE CAST GOES OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS, SLOWLY BEGINNING TO GET ITSELF ORGANIZED. AND AS WE GET TO RIGHT AROUND, I WOULD SAY MIDWEEK NOTICING THAT AREA IS GOING TO BE PROBABLY BE OUR NEXT NAME SYSTEM. THE NEXT NAME SYSTEM ON THE LIST IS GOING TO BE THE F NAME STORM AND IT CONTINUES. AS DO WE GET TOWARD THE END OF THE WEEK, GETTING A LITTLE CLOSE TO THE ISLANDS. Updated: 8:03 PM EDT Oct 4, 2025
The Gulf Coast Storm team is monitoring one low-pressure system and a tropical wave this weekend. We’ve been keeping an eye on a weak area of low pressure in the Bahamas over the last several days, the chance of development has dissipated. Low Pressure System: Northern Gulf A weak area of low pressure could bring heavy rains along the northern Gulf coast, but odds for development of that feature is 0%. So there is no risk of development over the next week. Over the next few days, the low pressure system will likely drift north toward Texas. Tropical Wave: Eastern Atlantic Ocean The second area to watch is a tropical wave that is emerging off the west coast of Africa. It is currently producing disorganized showers and thunderstorms several hundred miles south of the Cabo Verde Islands. The latest development odds are at 60% over the next week and 20 percent in the next 48 hours.A tropical depression will be possible as the wave moves west. The next name on the list is Jerry. It’s too early to determine if this disturbance will have any impact to land, however early modeling suggest a recurve before the United States. Interest near the Lesser Antilles should monitor the progress of this system. We’ll continue to keep you updated on the platforms of Gulf Coast News.
