Nineteen-year-old Brilyn Hollyhand, crowned Charlie Kirk’s “protégé” in a recent New York Post profile, has drawn MAGA’s fury with a video filmed from a private jet as he kick-starts his Turning Point USA-style campus speaking events.
The tour, dubbed One Conversation at a Time, came after Hollyland vowed to carry forward the slain conservative activist’s legacy.
But last week, Hollyhand’s image cracked when a self-shot promotional video — showing the Alabama teenager sitting on a private jet and sporting a luxury watch — that has since ricocheted across conservative social media.
Critics on the right seized on the footage as proof he was less grassroots firebrand than “country-club” conservative, reported The Bulwark’s Will Sommer.
Nick Sortor, a Republican influencer who briefly co-hosted Kirk’s show, warned against “grifters” pushing tours as a “distraction” from the real work of TPUSA.
TPUSA’s own chief operating officer Tyler Bowyer was harsher still, claiming Hollyhand “let us all down” when he associated with ex-Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel and accusing him of falsely suggesting his events were sponsored by the group.
Other users framed the teen as proof that the Republican Party was pushing back on MAGA’s influence:
Hollyland did find himself one notable defender, however, in close Trump ally Laura Loomer, who derided the “toxic” criticism and those piling on as “jealous” of the activist’s family wealth.
Sommer highlighted that Hollyhand attempted to push back on the onslaught, arguing the jet belonged to a “hometown friend.”
That explanation has done little to quiet anger among Trump loyalists who see the teenager as an emblem of a Republican establishment eager to roll back the culture-war edge Kirk embodied.
