TAMPA, Fla. — The new owners of the Tampa Bay Rays will hold a news conference Tuesday morning.

Tampa Bay Rays Managing Partner and Co-Chair Patrick Zalupski, Co-Chair Bill Cosgrove and Chief Executive Officer Ken Babby will talk to reporters at Steinbrenner Field.

It is set for 11:30 a.m. You can watch it live on Spectrum Bay News 9 on-air, online or the Spectrum News app.

The three are likely to talk about the future of the team and possibly where they want them to play.

The Rays spent the 2025 season at Steinbrenner Field after Hurricane Milton damaged Tropicana Field in October 2024. It is anticipated that the Trop will be fixed in time for the 2026 season.

The sale of the team closed last week. The team didn’t release the purchase price, but reports have estimated it at $1.7 billion.

That is about $500 million more than Forbes valued the team at when the 2025 season started.
