Lewiston authorities say one person was injured in a fire that broke out at Kaydenz Kitchen, a local nonprofit organization that moved into one of the two sites where the 2023 mass shooting took place.The Lewiston Police Department said everyone at 551 Lincoln St. has been accounted for, and that one person was transported to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.Lincoln Street is closed between Locust Street and South Avenue while crews work to extinguish the fire. Police said they expected Lincoln Street would be reopened shortly after 5 p.m.Kaydenz Kitchen has opened a warming shelter and the Alter 207 secondhand store at the former Schemengees Bar and Grille, where 10 people were killed and 10 others were wounded on Oct. 25, 2023.The Lewiston Fire Department shared several photos from the scene, which show significant damage to the outside of the building.Firefighters said an investigation into the origin and cause of the fire will begin once crews finish extinguishing and overhauling the area.
