Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has issued a challenge to Moises Caicedo, who has caught his eye this season.
Lampard can see similarities between the 23-year-old and former Chelsea stars N’Golo Kante and Claude Makelele.
However, there are still a couple more things that the retired England international would like to see him do.
According to Lampard’s ex-Three Lions teammate Gary Neville, Caicedo is the best midfielder in the Premier League.

After joining Chelsea from Brighton & Hove Albion in 2023, Caicedo had a tough settling-in period.
He eventually adapted and has been one of Chelsea’s most consistent performers ever since, and Lampard has now urged him to continue showing consistency while helping the Blues to win trophies.
Comparing the Ecuadorian to Kante and Makelele on talkSPORT, the Coventry City manager said: “They (Kante and Makelele) were both amazing. I played with Maka obviously and he was a different type to N’Golo, because N’Golo could really get around, whereas Maka basically sat in front a lot.
“But I see because of the style of play, he (Caicedo) can do the Makelele break-up stuff really, really well, close down space really quickly. Now he’s shown last season and this, that he’s got the sort of Kante bits in his game because N’Golo could do that, could arrive at the edge of the box and score.
“What he’s got to do now is just turn out consistently for the next season and hopefully try and win things with Chelsea.”
Caicedo has already managed to bag a couple of major honours at Chelsea, winning both the Club World Cup and Conference League last term.
After the amount of money that Chelsea spent on the likes of Caicedo and Enzo Fernandez, though, critics think the Blues should be competing for the Premier League title and Champions League trophy.
If members of Enzo Maresca‘s squad stop getting sent off, David James thinks Chelsea can fight for the title this season.

The fee that Chelsea paid to sign Caicedo from Brighton was £115m, which was really scrutinised at the time.
Not much is said about it now, with former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster claiming that the Ecuador international is “worth every penny”.
When Foster discussed Caicedo on his YouTube channel earlier this week, he said: “Caicedo, fantastic. Worth every penny, I’d say… Do you know what’s interesting actually? Of the £100m players that have been bought in the Premier League, Caicedo is probably the only one really where you go, ‘Yeah, he’s worth that’.”
Now that he is adding goals to his game, Chelsea fans will not disagree with Foster. Many did not to begin with.
Caicedo’s goal against Liverpool was his third of the season. Last term, the ex-Brighton man managed just one in the Premier League, so it is an area where he has definitely improved.
