MANCHESTER, N.H. —
New Hampshire Supreme Court Justice Anna Barbara Hantz Marconi has had her license to practice law reinstated.
Hantz Marconi is now authorized to resume her judicial duties after entering a no-contest plea to a misdemeanor charge Tuesday.
The state Attorney Discipline Office, which had suspended her license during the case, issued a statement Tuesday afternoon:
“We conclude that criminal solicitation (misuse of position) is not a ‘serious crime’ because it does not include, as a necessary element, interference with the administration of justice, false swearing, misrepresentation, fraud, deceit, bribery, extortion, misappropriation, or theft. Accordingly, we lift the respondent’s interim suspension and reinstate her to the practice of law, effective immediately.”

She is accused of misusing her position to try to obtain information and influence a criminal case against her husband, New Hampshire Port Authority Director Geno Marconi, by meeting with former Gov. Chris Sununu.
The order placing Hantz Marconi on leave from the court was rescinded following her plea hearing.
She was sentenced to the maximum penalty, a $1,200 fine.
News 9 requested an interview with Chief Justice Gordon MacDonald about the case, but he declined.
Geno Marconi’s trial is scheduled for November.
