FirstQFM AB, a Stockholm-based quantum technology company, has raised €1.2 million (13.1 million SEK) ($1.4 million USD) in pre-seed funding. The round was led by BSV Ventures, with participation from Almi InvestFurther than Capital and Luminar Ventures.. The funding is intended to accelerate the development of the company’s patent-pending AI foundation models for the quantum computing stack.

The company’s AI foundation models are designed to improve performance, scalability, and reliability across the quantum stack, with a focus on enhancing device calibration and error correction. This technology is intended to advance the utility of NISQ-era machines and support the path toward fault-tolerant quantum computing. The company noted that it has achieved initial performance gains on superconducting hardware.

FirstQFM is partnering directly with quantum hardware developers. The technology is positioned to address challenges in chemistry, finance, life sciences, and mobility. Vish Ramakrishnan, CEO and Co-Founder of FirstQFM AB, stated that the funding will help support the further development of the company’s proprietary technology and the execution of ongoing pilot projects.
