LINCOLN, Neb — The Nebraska women’s basketball team is gearing up for a major showdown against Illinois on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Pinnacle Bank Arena. The game, set to tip off at 1 p.m., promises a thrilling atmosphere as the Huskers aim to “Pack PBA” with fans. Nebraska and Illinois, both 2025 NCAA Tournament teams, have a competitive history, with Nebraska splitting games against Illinois last season. The Huskers eliminated the Illini from the conference tournament with a 74-70 victory on March 6, following a 77-68 loss in Champaign on Feb. 16.
Nebraska’s women’s basketball team has consistently drawn large crowds, ranking among the top 25 teams nationally in home attendance for 15 consecutive years. Last season, they attracted nearly 10,000 fans for a game against No. 12 Ohio State and set a school record with 15,042 attendees for a victory over No. 2 Iowa on Feb. 11, 2024.
