Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo is ensuring that he remains at his peak physical condition during the October international break.
Since Ruben Amorim arrived at Old Trafford, it has been difficult for Mainoo to insert himself into his plans. Amorim has already made it clear that the Stockport-born midfielder is in direct competition with Bruno Fernandes for a place in his starting XI which has hindered his minutes.
Mainoo has played in the more advanced No.10 role but since the arrivals of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, the 20-year-old has struggled to find a place their too. A lack of minutes this season led to the midfielder requesting a loan move away from Old Trafford.
With the World Cup on the horizon at the end of the season, Mainoo needs to be playing to stand a chance of making Thomas Tuchel’s squad. However, Amorim rejected the request from Mainoo, insisting that he needs him to stay as part of his squad.
Despite this, Mainoo has still yet to start a match for United in the Premier League and the topic of a transfer move is bound to return when the January window opens. But if the midfielder is frustrated at Old Trafford, he has ensured his professional standards remain.

During the October international break, Mainoo jetted off to Marbella to prepare for the Premier League’s return. Whilst in the heat of Spain, Mainoo has continued to train on the pitch and in the gym.
The midfielder also posted pictures of himself in the gym with the caption ‘blessed’. From Amorim’s perspective, it will be pleasing to see Mainoo sticking to his professionalism.
