The Connecticut Sun is planning to stay here in the state and play in Uncasville next season.

NBC Connecticut obtained a letter the women’s basketball team sent to season ticket holders on Wednesday that says the team will be playing at Mohegan Sun Arena in 2026 and offered fans the option to renew their season tickets.

This comes after a member of the city council in Boston, Massachusetts, filed a resolution earlier this month to move a WNBA franchise there and tied it to reports that the Sun, a franchise owned by the Mohegan Tribe, might be sold.

The letter the Sun sent to season ticket holders says, “We know there has been a lot of conversation in the media about the future of the team, but please know that we will be playing the 2026 season here at Mohegan Sun Arena and thus are very happy to be able to start our Season Ticket Auto-Renewal Process!”

The team is playing at home on Thursday night against the Sparks.
