For the Warner Grand Theater in San Pedro, the firm is leading upgrades and repairs of the 40,000 square foot venue, soon set to begin construction. Originally opened in 1931, the Art Deco Moderne theater was designed by B. Marcus Priteca with interiors by muralist Anthony Heinsbergen.Â

In Santa Monica, meanwhile, the firm is leading the development of the new Bezdek Center. The 55,000-square-foot complex will include a 650-seat main auditorium, a 100-person recital hall, and spaces for filmmaking, rehearsals, and music instruction. The venue will also house the Crossroads School Equity & Justice Institute.

Reflecting the school’s industrial surroundings, the scheme’s design approach emphasizes structural simplicity and open connectivity, linking the main auditorium with the recital hall and adjacent arts spaces through a flexible, open-air lobby.
