CHICOPEE – The Tantasqua golf team completed the overall sweep of Tuesday’s Western Massachusetts Division II Golf Championships, as the Warriors used a late comeback to leapfrog Pope Francis for the top overall team spot with a final score of 323 (39-over) compared to 326 (42-over) for the Cardinals at Chicopee Country Club.

Though Pope Francis was unable to claim their second consecutive regional crown, coach John Anziano remained proud of his team’s effort. This was especially significant since Pope Francis accomplished this feat after being forced to bid farewell to numerous top players in Jack Dias, Michael McGrath, Jack Ouellette, and Brody Faneuff.
