The action continues to heat up at the ATP Stockholm Open with several intriguing matchups headlining day four. The indoor conditions tend to reward first-strike tennis, but with a mix of aggressive baseliners and counterpunchers still in the draw, there’s plenty of room for different playing styles to shine. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for every match on the schedule. But who will book their spot in the round of 16?
ATP Stockholm Day 4 Predictions
Tomas Martin Etcheverry vs Miomir Kecmanovic
Head-to-head: Etcheverry 1–1 Kecmanovic
Both players arrive here looking to build momentum late in the season. Tomas Martin Etcheverry showed flashes of his best tennis in his opener, using his forehand to dictate play effectively, while Miomir Kecmanovic snapped a losing streak with a much-needed win against sixth seed Alexandre Muller in his opener in Stockholm. Neither is known for their indoor hard-court prowess, but Kecmanovic’s flatter hitting and court positioning could give him a slight edge in the quicker conditions.
Prediction: Etcheverry in 3
Ugo Humbert vs Matteo Berrettini
Head-to-head: Berrettini 3–1 Humbert
This promises to be a battle of big serves and forehands. Ugo Humbert opens his ATP Stockholm campaign after a passable but unremarkable stretch in Asia which brought just one win in three matches. Matteo Berrettini, meanwhile, looked sharp in his first match, serving with purpose and striking cleanly off both wings. Both tend to play on the front foot, so short points and fine margins should define this one. It could come down to who controls the baseline better in key moments but Berrettini’s power will be tough to handle in these conditions.
Prediction: Berrettini in 2

Jacob Fearnley vs Elias Ymer
Head-to-head: first meeting
Jacob Fearnley continues to make the most of his opportunities, scoring a composed win in the last round to keep his breakthrough season rolling. Elias Ymer, back in front of the home crowd, brings a level of comfort and energy that could make a big difference and beat his brother Mikael in the first round in Stockholm. This one might hinge on how well Fearnley handles the pace and emotion of the occasion against the Swede. But Ymer does not have much tennis behind him and Fearnley should have the edge.
Prediction: Fearnley in 3
Lorenzo Sonego vs Aleksandar Kovacevic
Head-to-head: first meeting
Lorenzo Sonego’s aggressive intent was on full display in his previous match, and his experience indoors could prove valuable here. Aleksandar Kovacevic, though, brings solid form into this contest despite a rough few months and showed plenty of grit to advance earlier in the week. Expect fast-paced rallies and frequent trips to the net, with both men eager to set the tone from the first ball.
Prediction: Sonego in 3

Holger Rune vs Marton Fucsovics
Head-to-head: Rune 1–0 Fucsovics
The top seed steps on court for the first time this week, looking to put a difficult stretch behind him and rediscover his early-season sharpness. Marton Fucsovics is a tough opening test—experienced indoors and capable of soaking up pressure with compact, efficient strokes. Holger Rune’s ability to dictate play early and maintain composure in longer rallies could be key to keeping control of this one.
Prediction: Rune in 2
