More of the trims and trappings of Animation Courtyard in Disney’s Hollywood Studios have been torn down ahead of the area’s transformation.

All of the awnings and their frames have been removed from the theater that previously housed Disney Jr. Play and Dance! There are paint-less strips on the walls where the awnings used to be attached. Disney Jr. billboards remain visible on the building.

Behind construction walls, we could still see the Mickey-shaped entrance to the theater’s outdoor queue.

Disney Jr. Play and Dance! was replaced by the Get Animated! dance party for the summer. A new Disney Jr. show will open when the courtyard’s reimagining is complete.

At the back of the courtyard, only a rectangular frame remains where the Star Wars: Launch Bay sign used to be. The themed facade behind the sign is still in place, although there are some messy marks, and a piece of scrim is covering something.

Star Wars: Launch Bay will be replaced by a new version of The Magic of Disney Animation, the opening-day Disney’s Hollywood Studios attraction that Launch Bay replaced 10 years ago. The courtyard will become the Walt Disney Studios lot.

The courtyard closed after September 24 and construction walls went up the next day. The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure and Walt Disney Presents remain open. The reimagined courtyard, new Disney Jr. show, and new Magic of Disney Animation are set to open in 2026.
