ATP Almaty Quarterfinal Predictions
Corentin Moutet vs Jan-Lennard Struff

Head-to-head – Moutet 2-0 Struff

Corentin Moutet has played decent tennis post the US Open, reaching the last four at Hangzhou and now the last eight here. The Frenchman faces Jan-Lennard Struff, who surprisingly has lost on both occasions they played before. Struff had a fantastic US Open this year and he has carried that form here. The German took out the top seed Karen Khachanov which makes this match extremely tough to call. Expect a tight battle between the two with Struff banking on his big serve to get the job done.
Prediction: Struff in 3

Alex Michelsen vs Shintaro Mochizuki

Head-to-head – First Meeting

Alex Michelsen has had a decent 2025 tennis season–which sees him ranked below #40. The young American will look to make the most out of this week as he is yet to drop a set in the two matches he has played. He faces Shintaro Mochizuki, who is just 22 years old but is rising quickly through the ranks. Expect Michelsen to dominate though as the Japanese is relatively still inexperienced on the main tour.
Prediction: Michelsen in 2

Flavio Cobolli vs James Duckworth

Head-to-head – Cobolli 1-0 Duckworth

Flavio Cobolli will look to arrest a string of poor results since the US Open. The Italian looked good in his first match here, and he now takes on James Duckworth. The Australian managed to win a tight match against Gabriel Diallo but he has already played a lot this week. Expect Cobolli to dominate from the baseline and tire out Duckworth, who has had no momentum whatsoever this year.
Prediction: Cobolli in 2

Daniil Medvedev vs Fabian Marozsan

Head-to-head – Medvedev 1-0 Marozsan

Daniil Medvedev will be disappointed with his loss last week in Shanghai as he would have favored himself to reach the final. Medvedev is still without any titles this year and maybe Almaty is where that streak ends. His next opponent is a dangerous one in Fabian Marozsan. The Hungarian is a deadly ball striker from the baseline and can go toe to toe with Medvedev. Expect Medvedev to fight hard and dig in for a tough win.
Prediction: Medvedev in 3
