Kristen Bell, the voice actress behind Princess Anna in the Frozen franchise, recently spoke about when the cast will start production for Frozen 3. She also disclosed whether she has seen the script for the animated movie.

Kristen Bell has seen script for Frozen 3, reveals production to start soon

Bell spoke about Frozen 3 during her conversation with Variety at the Thursday premiere of the popular Netflix series Nobody Wants This’ second season. When asked when Frozen 3 is happening, Bell said, “Soon. That’s all I can say.” The interviewer then asked if the actress had a date, prompting Bell to respond, “I’m under lock and key. I don’t even know if I can say the date.”

The Forgetting Sarah Marshall star subsequently confirmed that she does have a starting date for production. She also admitted that she hadn’t yet heard the songs that will feature in the movie, before adding that she had seen the script.

Bell proceeded to offer details on how she received Frozen 3 material. “It’s all mostly like concept stuff in the beginning like, ‘Here’s where we think it should go,’” Bell elaborated. “That’s the one great thing about Disney is it goes through a thousand filters, not to be diplomatic, but because everyone’s going to add something different. That’s why the movies play so well because they hit every single mark because nothing has been missed,” she added.

Frozen 3 will serve as the third feature-length entry in the franchise after Frozen (2013) and Frozen 2 (2019). The first movie was a massive critical and commercial success, earning over $1 billion at the global box office and winning several accolades, including two Academy Awards. The second one was even a bigger commercial success. Accordingly, there is considerable interest in the third movie.

Frozen 3 is scheduled for release in U.S. theaters in November 2027. A fourth Frozen movie is reportedly in development.
