Only three races remain in the NASCAR Cup Series season. These events move to a different broadcast channel as the top series in stock car racing inches closer to crowning its champion.
Unlike the majority of the NBC Sports portion of the schedule, these three races will air on NBC instead of the USA Network. The longtime NASCAR broadcast partner took over the schedule for Iowa Speedway on Aug. 3, but it only aired one race on NBC proper (Daytona on Aug. 23). The rest of the events have aired on USA.
This changes starting this weekend at Talladega Superspeedway. This playoff race will air on NBC while Peacock provides streaming coverage for its subscribers. This setup continues next weekend for the Round of 8 elimination race at Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 26. NBC and Peacock will then provide coverage for the championship race at Phoenix Raceway on Nov. 2.
One thing that won’t change is the broadcast information for practice and qualifying. Max and truTV will still continue to air these on-track sessions for the rest of the season. Max will also serve as the home of the exclusive in-car cameras during the Cup Series races.
The NBC Sports crew will remain the same for the remaining races. Leigh Diffey will do play-by-play while Steve Letarte and Jeff Burton join him in the booth. Marty Snider, Kim Coon, Dave Burns, and Dillon Welch will serve as pit reporters. Snider will lead the pre- and post-race coverage while working with Letarte and Dale Jarrett.
