HAWAII COUNTY, Hawaii (Island News) — Big Island police are asking for the public’s help in locating Lynda Saffer who is missing and endangered.

Saffer, 79, was last seen on Ainaloa Boulevard and Aloha Drive in Pahoa at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 16, 2025.

The missing woman is described as being 5-feet 3-inches tall, weighs 160 pounds, has grey hair, blue eyes and wears glasses. She was last seen wearing a purple dress.

Anyone with information on Saffer’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or call Hawaii Police Department ‘s non-emergency line at 808-935-3311.
