A year ago, everyone thought Teun Koopmeiners would show his worth at Juventus, but the Dutchman continues to struggle, and he might be given just a few more chances to justify his €60m price tag.

Koopmeiners joined Juventus from Atalanta for €60m after an endless transfer saga in the summer of 2024, but the Dutch midfielder has failed to justify his price tag so far.

A year ago, nobody could imagine that the 27-year-old would only produce five goals and three assists in 51 appearances across all competitions.

Koopmeiners showed undisputed qualities at Atalanta, but more than a year after his move to Turin, he has wasted every chance he’s been given.

Perhaps playing in different positions, from attacking midfielder to central midfielder, did not help him, and the pressure of delivering week in week out seems to have brought a nearly definitive psychological block.

Juventus might give him some final chances in the coming weeks, but the Bianconeri are also aware they can’t afford a capital loss, selling the Dutchman for a low price tag.

Unfortunately for the Bianconeri, Koopmeiners’ performances in a Bianconeri shirt do not inspire optimism.
