While Samsung, OnePlus and Google are ramping up for the discount season, Apple tech remains steadfastly at full price. That may be about to change as Apple’s mid-range iPhone 16e sees its price drop this weekend for the first time in months.
The budget phone has been discounted on Amazon by £40 ($53), bringing the price down to £509 ($683) from £549 ($737). This is one of its lowest prices yet. It is, of course, a small discount for a device-range that rarely sees its price change. But this reduction beats Amazon’s August promotion. A current generation iPhone for roughly £500 ($670) is still a solid deal.

Considering this is an Amazon deal, it comes with nothing extra. No discounted accessories and no coupons to knock the price down further. You will have to pick up a Samsung phone if you want a better Amazon deal that combines discounted accessories and a larger price markdown.
Price drops are frustratingly rare for Apple fans, but Amazon U.K. is the best place to find them. In August, the retailer slashed the price of the iPhone 16 range a month before the iPhone 17 landed. British service provider EE matched that deal by knocking roughly £100 ($174) off every iPhone 16 variant.
Today, the main iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus remain at full price. Apple discontinues its Pro and Pro Max models after the launch of a new iPhone, but they are sometimes available at third-party retailers. That doesn’t appear to be the case on Amazon right now, which likely means they sold out in one of the retailers last sales.
One More Chance To Buy The Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max
This isn’t the end of the story for the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Every May, Apple brings back its previous generation’s discounted units as refurbished models and sells them with big discounts. The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max got the same treatment this year, and they just dropped to their lowest price ever, as my colleague David Phelan writes.
