The previous-gen Apple Watch SE 2 is still CNET’s top pick for the best budget smartwatch of 2025, and you can find a handful of configurations at a serious discount right now.

Walmart has knocked $80 off the 40mm model with a starlight case and green sport loop, which drops it down to just $169. You can also pick up the 40mm midnight variant for just $170. Just note that remaining inventory is fairly limited, so these discounted watches could sell out in a flash. We’d recommend taking advantage of these prices sooner rather than later.

The Apple Watch SE is a great wearable. It also makes an excellent first smartwatch for kids. Features include crash detection, heart rate monitoring and activity tracking. If you don’t need all the bells and whistles that Apple’s more rugged options offer, there’s no reason to sleep on this rare sale.
