Additionally, the Z80 Ultra supports a macro mode from 15 cm away via its ultra-wide-angle camera. Also, Nubia continues to hide its front-facing camera via under-panel camera technology. As a result, the 6.85-inch AMOLED display is unencumbered by a camera punch hole. While the large display also outputs at 2,688 x 1,216 pixels with a 2,592 Hz PWM frequency, a 144 Hz refresh rate and a 3,000 Hz touch sampling rate, its 2,000 nits peak brightness is on the low side.
The Nubia Z80 Ultra starts at CNY 4,999 (~$702) in China with 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, the device can be configured up to 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage for CNY 5,699 (~$800). Meanwhile, the device’s dedicated camera kit pictured below retails for CNY 699 (~$98). Nubia has also shared initial information about the smartphone’s global launch, full details of which we have covered separately.
