We hope to establish it as an annual tradition again like in the early days of the NASCAR Modified Tour.”The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour is NASCAR’s oldest racing division, dating back to 1948. The tour features powerful, lightweight stock cars with open-wheel aesthetics and “modified” bodies. The series is known for its aggressive, short track grassroots-type racing.“We hope this announcement is the first of many we will have this off-season that will excite the fans,” Mayberry said. “We have been working to add some new and exciting events to our calendar for 2026, and this is the first step in that process.”Last year, 2024, Oxford Plains Speedway celebrated its 75th year of racing. The Speedway is the largest spectator sporting facility in the state, with a capacity of over 14,000 people.
