Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps will begin streaming November 5 on Disney+.

The film, which grossed more than $521 million worldwide at the box office, stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Marvel’s First Family. It opened to a record $117.6 million domestically. Fantastic Four repped the biggest domestic B.O. opening for director Matt Shakman and castmembers Pascal, Kirby, Quinn and Moss-Bachrach.

Set against the backdrop of a ’60s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel’s First Family faces a daunting challenge. Forced to balance being heroes with their family bond, they must defend Earth from a space god and his enigmatic herald.

The film follows Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Johnny Storm (Human Torch), and Ben Grimm (The Thing) as they journey across the cosmos, and discover the heart, humor, and family bonds that make them truly fantastic.

In Deadline’s review, Damon Wise said it was “the best by far of the company’s attempts to translate the long-running comic book’s appeal to the big screen.” He noted, “It also benefits from a smart script and … really quite moving performances from its four charismatic leads, being arguably the best of Pedro Pascal’s releases this year.”

The film was among the top ten highest-grossing films of 2025, both domestically and globally. Critics called it “one of the best superhero movies of all time” (Ryan Britt, Men’s Journal), praising its “jaw-dropping spectacle and epic action” (Josh Wilding, Comic Book Movie).

WandaVision‘s Shakman directed from a script by Eric Pearson, Josh Friedman, Jeff Kaplan, and Ian Springer. Peter Cameron (WandaVision) has did some writing on the project, produced by Kevin Feige for Marvel Studios.
